Ok, this was just an amazing show all around. Up 1st was ex KMFDM member En Esch and his solo project EN ESCH who had the same feel as KMFDM with that killer industrial dance sound and killer vocals from En along with a female singer as well, pretty good stuff. EN ESCH songs included…. do me, live and let live, juke joint jezebel, godlike, and a few more. Next were one of punk rock / goth / death rock gods CHRISTIAN DEATH who i seen a few times before, played a killer set of old and newer stuff. Valor Kand is still a great frontman who put on a killer show along with Maitri who sings as well plays guitar. Well CHRISTIAN DEATH just played another great show, really love how the mics are cover in flowers like almost a romantic feel or a funeral. But this CA band are just a killer band with a long history in the punk, goth, dark wave, death rock scene and still playing excellent shows. look for an interview in issue 47 of the print zine, and check you tube as well for the uncut interview. COMBICHRIST were fucking killer, this band is just insane live and very powerful nihilist punk rock metal industrial roll with a full of chaos sound. Well COMBICHRIST features the madman vocal of Andy La Plegua and my buddy Eric 13 on guitar and just the out of control drumming of Joe Letz who came out in drag and just destroyed it (in a cool way) this bad just fucking kick ass.
Well one of the worlds most sexist bands were next LORDS OF ACID who kicked out a non stop party of killer hard edge dance beats to an industrial rock rampage of sex, sex and rock n roll. Well featuring the vocals of Mea Fisher this band got the party started with such songs as… voodoo u, young boys, taste my honey, she and mrs jones, lover, out comes the evil, rubber doll even throwing a doll into the crowd, pussy inviting girls to come up on stage and go wild, and i sit on acid, and more killer songs. Well LORDS OF ACID are just killer live with a lot of energy and power. also the keyboard playing of Praga Khan if just mindblowing keyboarder who rock the keyboard like a guitar. But all an all this was just a killer show, probably one of the top 5 all year. thanks to Speak Easy PR as well as Christian Death (Valor) and Eric 13 (CC) this review will also run in the print issue out soon. (BW)
Photos are LORDS OF ACID (Billy Whitfield) other bands photos are posted on the photo page.
Okay this was a killer show all around. Well saw so many old friends from way back. Up 1st was Skinny Puppy’s OHGR who played a pretty good set that included songs like…kettle, cracker, dog, devil, and more that had the same feel as Puppy with Ohgr great stage performance. Well KMFDM played another great show of high powered music that got the crowd going nuts. the band played a bunch of old and newer stuff like…diy, freak flag, hell yeah, light, ww3, a drug against war, animal out, and more. Just another killer show. (BW)
OK this was a killer show with just an old school feel, opening things up were the Baltimore, MD band WARXGAMES who kicked out some old school hardcore with just a powerful feel, with just a brutal sound. Next another Baltimore band called MALICIOUS CODE kicking out some more brutal stuff with a BLACK FLAG feel with hints of metal added. Well BLOODCLOT featuring John Joseph (THE CROMAGS) on vocals along with Todd Youth (WARZONE / MURPHY’S LAW/ DANZIG/ DGENERATION / MOTORHEAD) and dozen more bands, with Nick Oliveri (QOTSA / DWARVES/ BLASTS) and Joey Castillo (BLASTS / QOTSA). Well BLOODCLOT have that CROMAGS feel along with a more punk to metal sound and power, The band played a killer set that were all BLOODCLOT songs that included songs like… up in arms, fire, kill the beast, soldiers, death of me and more killer songs. Well this is not the CROMAGS, but just another great band featuring John Joseph one of the best’s singers in punk / hardcore today. Also he’s book ” the evolution of a cro-magnon” is a great read.
Closing out the show were NEGATIVE APPROACH bring some old school Detroit punk to Baltimore once again. Well Brannon vocals are still raw and brutal and this guy still growls like a beasts on such songs as…. can’t tell no one, pressure, ready to fight, tied down, nothing, chaos, and more. still a great band. Well THE MENTORS are back in Baltimore to kick out some scum rock, the bad boys of punk / metal played to a hand full of fans. But the masks men of punk made news 30+ years ago with AL Gore wife Trippy went after them and more bands for being dirty little men/ But 30+ years later with a bunch of Baltimore and DC shows in-between THE MENTORS played another killer show with a few love songs (hahaha) always great seeing them, and 10 bucks t shirts kick ass. (BW)

MORE METAL…… This time another killer show at the OTTO BAR, actually my 3rd show in a row. Well again some really cool locals band opened the show. LO-PAN from Ohio kicked out some hard pounding metal with just a bad ass feel. KARMA TO BURN who been tearing things up since the late 90’s played a killer set, boy been like 10 plus years since the lasts time I seen this band forgetting how cool this guys were. Well K2B just play ass kicking rock n roll with hints of metal, stoner rock and some acid added in with just an all instrumental fury with a lot of mayhem. Well one thing I always dug about this band how the songs titles are numbers. and K2B played such songs as… 8, 36, 19, 61 and more. Just think COC meeting ZEKE without vocals. Well DC/MD THE OBSESSED featuring metal legend Wino Scott Weinrich who is somewhat like Lemmy , just a metal god. Well Wino also played in other great bands like… ST VITUS, SPIRIT CARAVAN and more. But THE OBSESSED been tearing things up on and off since the 80’s with just a pure evil sound of metal. Well tonight the band played such songs as…. sacred, razor wire, street side, sky bones, and more off the new album “Sacred” and more classics. Well this band just blow out a mindfuck of metal, stoner, punk, rolled in one powerhouse sound that still kick ass. Well actually had a killer time and great meeting a few fans who came from far and near. Well I seen THE OBSESSED many times, one of my favorite’s was at the LOFT in Baltimore the DIY punk club with SLAYER and COC. still a killer band. (BW)
OK time for some fucking metal… Well a few really good bands opened the show and got things started. REVOLATION played just a great set, touring to support the Metal Blade Records release of ” Great is our Sin” REVOLATION just unleased an assault of power and just raw metal chops on songs like… theatre of hate / bound by desire / the hives / witch trials and more killer songs. Next were SUFFOCATION who been tearing things up since 88′ well this band from NY Long Island just blasted out a sound of rage and power that mixed hardcore, metal, death metal, and grindcore for a sonic blasts. featuring Terrance Hobbs and Derek Boyer this band is still a force in the metal scene. Well SUFFOCATION played such songs as… thrones of blood / funeral inception / return to the abyss / catatonia / your lasts breath and more killer songs. this was just a killer show.
